Project to Support Denver Homeless

Renew is “Spreading the Love” with PB&J, Socks Holiday Giveaway

’Tis the season for spreading warmth and love.

Last week, employees at Renew Anchored Dentures organized, purchased and made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for Denver’s homeless population. The team packaged them up in gift bags containing socks and snacks for distribution.

Renew teamed with Cross-Walk Ministries, a Denver-based ministry headed by Dan Martinez and dedicated to helping those in need. Dan’s Cross-Walk team, including Renew employee Mary Obee, delivered the sandwich bags along with blankets, sleeping bags, coats and hot chocolate on the streets of downtown Denver in 16-degree weather on Dec. 5. In all, volunteers passed out 120 sandwich bags with socks, plus gloves, hats and scarves.

Renew - Cross-Walk MInistries“The holidays should be a time of warmth, excitement and celebration, but for those facing homelessness or hunger it can be anything but that,” said Renew CMO Holly Nielsen. “Along with our employees and Cross-Walk, we hope to restore some of that holiday spirit.”
